Skills Audit

The skills I have learnt in AS have really benefited me this year to plan ahead. As I know how to use many programmes in an efficient way, it will allow me to be able to explore other slightly more complex ideas.

My thriller opening was narrative based, therefore realism was essential for it to work. This year, music videos are a little more complex because they may need to have effects incorporated to make it in the style of the artist we are trying to portray. We also must have a change of speed in our video to show new skills, as we didn't use this last year.

Softwares such as Final Cut Pro will be our main basis as we will use this for base tracks, adding the HQ version of the song, and to manipulate speed. Apart from this, other softwares could be usefeul to add more.

From the research last year I have realised that to be able to give an audience something exciting, we must be able to know how everything works. We must include different features that will attract the audience and acknowledge theories such as Mulvey or Goodwin, which will help us back up why we used certain things in our music video.

There were many steps to research in my AS year, therefore we must make sure we keep on top and back up everything we do with our background research of other videos and theories that could also help us develop a good music video.
