Analysis of Original Video - How Will Ours Be Different?

As our video doesn't have an original video it gives us so much space for ideas and creativity to be put in in terms of camera angles and applying theories such as Goodwin's and Mulvey's.

However, I have gathered some videos that have inspired me and is what we are possibly looking to do. This first one is the intro to Diamonds by Rihanna. The key lyrics in the song is the words 'Diamonds' hence the title of the song. The video itself amplifies the lyrics. Giving it a deeper meaning, and taking one idea and making a whole video out of it, which works really well as its simplicity gives the audience a different perspective. Our song lyrics for 'Roc The Life' talk about living a good life, and not letting anyone get in the way of it. This gives of a sense of wealth as Rita Ora mentions 'Champagne' and objects that can be shown a sign of wealth.

We have also seen other Rita Ora videos such as 'How We Do' to get a sense of what you would expect in her video.

In this video, we see a big party happening around the artist whilst she is singing and dancing. This could promote this certain lifestyle, also show the target audience that this type of lifestyle is what they aspire to have. In terms of how our video will differ - the settings will be completely different. This video used many extras and different wide spaced locations. Our budget is small and we have limited spaces we can use to be able to produce a high quality video.

Our video will use outside locations such as South Bank and Point hill. I think from these locations we will give a real British/Urban feel to our video. Very different to Rita Ora's style, even though she is is a British artist, she is signed to an American label, which may have altered her look.
