Review of Previous Student Video

This vide stood out to me because of the simplicity but creativity of it. There are some static shots, but as the backgrounds are moving, it gives the illusion of camera movements. I think this has been shot very well in according to the theories we have seen. This uses Disjuncture. It doesn't really relate to the lyrics but it works well in showing the artist, which is what a music video is mainly about.

This video works well because the settings all mesh well together. They all are set up in the dark with a strong spotlight, which also goes well with the upbeat music. The music video has a theme aswell which shows they have thought about how the settings would work together. I can suggest they have tried to use nature locations and props such as the lights to project this.

Mulvey's theory is applied here
These two shots show what is called the 'male gaze'. We are shown the female from a males perspective, focusing mainly on the legs and the shape her body makes, this could show the target audience for this video.

The green screen they used to project the moving images in the background, which gives a strong visual.

Strobe lights were used in some scenes to give the audience a lively feel. This is visually stimulating as it can portray a happy feeling.
